After a late night out, we let ourselves sleep in a bit. We spent a while cleaning up the room and getting everything back in order (taking some laundry to be cleaned down the street), and then traveled to the Rijksmuseum for a quick visit! To me, the Rijksmuseum was the traditional style of museum that comes to mind when you first start to envision a 'museum'. It was very quiet, relatively dark, FILLED with art at every turn, and everything was for viewing only--nothing interactive. This was definitely a change from the other museums we've been visiting recently, but no less amazing. We saw some beautiful Rembrandt and other art spanning a wide range of time periods, and then left for lunch nearby.

After a quick lunch we headed back to the hotel to get ready for what we thought would be a trip to the beach. In the end, we opted to go to the much closer Vondelpark, and hang out for a few hours. We just sat and enjoyed each others' company, and then ordered food to be delivered for a picnic. It was a pretty low-key day overall, but probably what we needed coming off of a very busy week.
